Mike Johnston [1, 2] ghosted me :( all of September 2025.

He doesn’t know what he has passed up on; a knôtM-powered [3] archive of his blog.

I have a Movable Type (Typepad’s proprietary internal database format; cf. [4])
parser laying around. But no one knows about is or is interested in using my parser. :(

It truly is a shame that Mike assumedly didn’t perform the Typepad export.
All commenter’s homepages, e-mail and IP addresses as well as all hidden comments
were in there. With Typepad shutting down, irrespective of any local copies
scraped from the HTML-rendered non-truth-data-source and irrespective of the
Internet Archive/WayBack Machine, parts of TOP are irrecoverably lost.  
Future Web archaeologists have been robbed of the true TOP dataset.
My condolences go out to THE ALIENS in 3000a’s time.

As a finger exercise, I wrote https://www.theofflinephotographer.com/atom.xml ,
a non-caching Patreon-API-to-RSS converter (legal under European law by DSA
(Digital Services Act) chapter II, article 4 (see also [6]),
as “mere conduit”s aren’t infringing on intellectual property rights)
in a few hours of today’s evening.  
Maybe it will be of use to one of the commenters on TOP’s final post who claimed
they wouldn’t continue following Mike Johnston without an RSS reader [7, 8].
But most likely no one will ever read these words I am typing here into the abyss.
